Mica Speer
Mica has been dancing since the age of three. Her dance teachers immediately saw a gift in her. Their encouragement and training led her to become the extraordinary dancer and teacher she is today. That first dance class ignited a 16 year dance career that has held so many opportunities. She spent ten years training all dance genres (focusing heavily on ballet, lyrical, and jazz) at her home studio, while also being a member of the competition team. During these years she won numerous titles, awards, and scholarships. Including a scholarship from the Dance Awards in Las Vegas for ballet and technicality. During her summer breaks she regularly traveled to New York City for master classes at the Broadway Dance Center. Mica and her team were invited to perform with the Haygoods group in Branson, Missouri. She starred in every production her studio organized, acting and dancing the parts of Gus Gus (Cinderella), Alice’s cat (Alice and Wonderland), and lead Munchkin (Wizard of Oz). She also had the opportunity to be cast in the Russian Nutcracker with Springfield Ballet in 2013. During this time, she traveled multiple times a year for conventions like PowerPak. At these conventions, she was able to dance alongside some of the greats in the dance industry, such as Molly Gray, Mark Meismer, and Emmy Award Winning choreographer, Travis Wall. She achieved this all before the age of ten. In 2015, Mica moved to Fayetteville to continue her dance career at The Williams Center. Indi Kids Magazine featured Mica on the cover for her achievements at the time. She also traveled to Little Rock on the weekends to train with Rock City Dance Center. At Rock City, she was given the chance to try out to be a member of The American Dance Company. Mica made the USA team and went to Warsaw, Poland to compete for Gold in 2017. Since then, she has trained independently and started teaching and choreographing at the beginning of 2022. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and continuing to pour into young dancers, while sharing her love for the art of dance.
